Gwynne Street (Union Alley) Water Tower To Be Offline

Repair, Rehabilitation, and Painting Work Planned

Starting Monday, August 15, 2016, the City of Urbana Water Division will take the water tower located on Union Alley (commonly referred to as the Gwynne Street Water Tower) offline in preparation for repair, rehabilitation, and painting work on the exterior of the structure.  The tank is anticipated to be out of service for approximately six to eight weeks.  The City of Urbana Water Division does not expect any problems other than possibly a slight decrease in water pressure for residents in the immediate area.  If you experience any water pressure problems, please report the issue to the City of Urbana Water Division by calling (937) 652-4315.  If any large water consumption such as pool filling is planned, please contact the City of Urbana Water Division in advance by calling (937) 652-4335.  The proper maintenance of the city's water towers is a vital component of protecting the community's investment in its water system, and the City of Urbana Water Division appreciates your patience and understanding during this project.
