Welcome the B25s

Welcome the B25s

From April 9 through April 19, the City of Urbana would like for our local businesses to welcome the B25s and the visitors through the use of temporary signs and "B25 Specials." If you have windows, we are encouraging you to decorate them with a WWII theme to honor the arrival of the Doolittle Raiders.

Please feel free to advertise your specials using the following guildelines. No permits will be required, and the use of the signs do not count toward your annual allowance. We are operating on the honor system for this week. Please ensure the following:

  • Place signs at least 15 feet behind public roadways.
  • Signs can be up to 5 feet tall.
  • Please make sure the signs are secured in a manner so that they do not blow over, obstruct views at intersections, or cause potential hazards.
  • Let the City know how your business is doing!
  • Keep a journal at your registers, encourage visitors to sign a guest book with their email addresses. We would love to see where everyone is from! The City would like to start an email list to let visitors know about future events. Once complete, please send a copy to Melanie Kendrick, Community Development Director City of Urbana, 205 South Main Street. You can also email a copy to mkendrick@ctcn.net.
  • This week is a free week--no permits required, and will not count toward annual allowance. If successful, we would like to be able to do this again with other events.

If you have questions, please call Melanie at 937-652-4320.
