Monument Square Roundabout Safety Improvements

Community Stakeholder Meeting Scheduled/Public Comments Being Accepted

The City of Urbana has engaged the services of engineering consultant Burgess and Niple to design improvements to the existing roundabout.  Changes to the roundabout aim to improve traffic calming, traffic flow, parking, loading/unloading and pedestrian safety.  As part of this design, the City of Urbana is requesting feedback from the community at a public meeting that is scheduled for Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Training Room of the Urbana Municipal Building at 205 South Main Street.  The engineering consultant will present proposed changes to the roundabout and a proposed maintenance of traffic scheme for use during construction.  Community feedback will be crucial to both topics.
