Last Doolittle Raiders Reunion on  April 14-20, 2012

The last Doolittle Raiders Reunion will be here. We are expecting 25+B-25's. They will fly to Wright Patterson AFB on Tuesday morning, April 17 and come back to Urbana Wednesday night.

Several of the B-25's may start coming in on Thursday, April12 and Friday April 13 to give rides. You can come to the airport to sign up for a ride once the planes are here.

We are hoping the Raiders themselves can come to Urbana.  Also attending will be the Chinese who helped rescue the Raiders when their planes crashed after the raid.

The B-25's will do formation flying and practice flights on Sunday and Monday as well as giving the rides.

Urbana is conveniently nestled in Champaign County in the heart of west central Ohio.

  • Incorporated in 1868
  • Approximately 6.8 square miles
  • Population 11,793 as of 2010 census
  • Home to Urbana University, a liberal arts college with an enrollment of 1500 and a 128-acre campus
  • Two national residential historic districts and multiple single sites on the registry
  • According to the Ohio Historical Society, in 1840 during the VanBuren-Harrison contest, downtown Urbana was the site for a national Whig convention dinner. Hanging nearby was a banner with the words "The People is Oll Korrect." This helped to perpetuate the national trend of using "OK," not only as a show of political support, but as a common phrase used today. (more)
