Balloon Fest

The skies over Champaign County will be adorned with 13 hot-air balloons the weekend of July 8, 9, 10. The event will be centered at Grimes Field airport in Urbana. It will feature hot-air balloon competitions as well as music, food, games and other entertainment for the entire family!  The crowd-pleasing "balloon glows" will take place at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. With the balloons on the ground, the pilots will fire up the burners causing the balloons to glow like giant light bulbs. This is a truly unique event that you DO NOT want to miss! Friday, July 8

5pm-Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest (registration 2-4:30)

6:30pm - Balloon Flight

6-8pm -Face painting by Champaign Family YMCA and Activate Champaign County

9m- Balloon Glow
