The Parks and Recreation Division maintains and operates Melvin Miller Park, Pointe North and smaller City Parks including Gwynne Street Park, Roadside Park and Barbara Howell Park.

  • 12-acre "Frontier Land", with playground equipment along unpaved trails

POINTE NORTH, 2222 US ROUTE 68 NORTH

Pointe North is located at 2222 US Route 68 North (just north of Grimes Airfield). Open March 1 through October 31 Pointe North is a 224 acre parcel offering public fishing (catch and release only), wildlife observation and picnic opportunities. This location is a “Trash Free” park; rules and regulations (as posted in the park) are enforced by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources-Division of Wildlife, the Champaign County Sheriff’s Department and City of Urbana Police Division.
